Colorectal Cancer affects men and women alike, it is considered as the third leading cause of cancer deaths. However, screening and early detection of this type of cancer can be cured, and by following these simple preventive steps and you can reduce significantly your risk of this disease.

How can I know if you are at risk of cancer of the colon and rectum?
Everyone is at risk of cancer of the colon and rectum is that the probability of infection depends on several factors:

• You are in relative risk of infection with this type of cancer if you are in the age of 50 or greater and do not suffer from other risk factors.

While you are at increased risk for infection if:

 • You have a personal record with this type of cancer or tumors in the glands.

• The existence of a family register (one person or more) infected as parents, brothers and sisters or children.

• The existence of a family record of infection of various other cancers (breast, ovary, uterus and other organs)

• You have a personal record of diseases related to infections ulcerative colitis or granulomatous colitis (Crohn's disease)

In addition to many inherited disorders, which increase the risk of infection dramatically, the following other factors increase the risk of cancer of the colon and rectum:

1. Food has a high level of fat
2. Sedentary lifestyle, and lack of movement
